Southwold Cycle Hire has been running independently for over 40 years.
Started in 1983, by Jean Finch, the much-loved local business was taken on by her son Tony Finch who ran it successfully from Blyth Road, Southwold, for 20 years from the early 2000s.
In 2021 it passed on to Tony’s nephew Jason Wright and his lifelong friend Barnes Thomas, who refreshed, rebranded and reinvigorated the business, opening new sites at Old Hall Farm Southwold and Southwold Beach (at Southwold Camping and Caravan Site).
In late 2025, Jason and Barnes decided it was time for new ventures. As of 1 February 2026 the business has been taken on by James Ullyart and Becky Niddrie-Webb. Becky is a school friend of Jason and Barnes, and together she and husband James are excited to take the business into its next chapter.
