FAQs
Do you deliver bikes?
Yes, for a small fee we can deliver and collect bikes within a 5 mile radius of Southwold. For large groups or by special arrangement we can deliver further afield. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. When you order delivery we will collect from the same location at the end of your hire.
Where do we collect the bikes?
If you have not added delivery to your order, the default pick up point is our hut at Ferry Road, Southwold, IP18 6ND (next to Southwold Camping & Caravan Site). We are open 10am - 3pm, Tuesday to Saturday during the Summer Holidays.
Do you have parking at your Ferry Road pick up point?
Unfortunately we do not have customer parking at our hut. The nearest car parks are both 2 mins walk away on Ferry Road (near The Sail Loft) and Southwold Harbour East (near the RNLI Southwold Lifeboat Station).
Do bikes come with helmets and locks?
Yes! We provide locks and helmets with all bike hires, but you’re also welcome to bring your own helmet if you prefer.
What happens if I want to return the bike after you close?
We want you to enjoy your day out and we’re happy to make arrangements for late return to either our Ferry Road Hut, or a drop point in the centre of Southwold. We just ask you to lock the bike(s) in the agreed location for us to collect later.
Can I arrange hire on Sundays or Mondays?
Our sites are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so online bookings can’t start or finish on those days. If you do need bikes during this time, please get in touch. We can usually arrange a solution that works for you.
What happens if we get a puncture or something happens to the bike?
Just give us a call on 07946 338097 and we will help you out.
Where is best to go for a bike ride
Suffolk is a safe place to ride so there are options everywhere. For a bit of inspiration, check out our journal.
What happens if I need to cancel?
It happens - plans change. For a full refund just let us know 48 hours in advance. Regretfully, we charge 50% of your hire fee when given less than 48 hours notice. This is because it takes time and effort to get the bikes ready and serviced. It also means we’ve booked bikes out when other people might want them.
Do you cater for large groups?
Absolutely! We love providing bikes for groups, whether you are a big family party, a stag or hen group, a school or a corporate away day. Find out more here.
Do you offer servicing and repairs?
Yes! We offer bike servicing and one-off repairs from our workshop site at Old Hall Southwold. Just give us a call or email us to discuss your requirements. Please note that during busy periods the wait for a service slot can be at least 2-3 weeks.
